A copy of the receipt is valid “Proof Of Purchase” according to the Department of Fair Trading NSW (An Australian Consumer Protection organisation). Fair Trading states: Always keep a copy of receipts, dockets, invoices or contracts in a safe place as you may need them if you want to return, repair or exchange the goods.
Using our Niggle It iPhone app you can quickly take a photo of the receipt and capture all the details. The iPhone 3G/3GS takes a great photo of receipts, even up to A4 size. It doesn’t need to be a perfect copy but only good enough to make out the important details such as the date of purchase and the reference number. If you use a Smartphone, take a picture of the receipt and email to niggle@niggleit.com and its Niggled. The trick is to take the image of the whole receipt in good light and keep the phone camera reasonably still. Niggleit.com can display the receipt details on your handset or some helpful retailers may offer to print for you in store. Use Niggle It to store a receipt copy online.
Note: This image is cropped. You will need to copy as much of the receipt as possible.
